Enhanced Midwifery Continuity of Carer Teams provide care and support to a diverse demographic of families with higher levels of deprivation and health inequalities. The MBRACCE reports evidence that black and Asian women, and women living in areas of higher deprivation are at greater risk of maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality. Our objective is to provide an enhanced continuity of carer model of care to a geographically based cohort of women. To provide evidence-based, women-centred midwifery care to women and birthing people living in Gloucestershire and be accountable for the overall provision of excellent care. To be a competent midwife, working flexibly within the Midwifery Service, providing individualised and culturally sensitive midwifery led / Consultant led care to women and their families. Work within the NMC Code of Professional Standards (March 2015) as an autonomous practitioner.
