Major Recruitment are seeking a Hygiene Supervisor to join our client's site at their manufacturing site in Telford.
As Hygiene Manager, you'll manage and co-ordinate team activities while always maintaining audit ready hygiene standards. The hygiene team has a key impact on production and technical strategy and the right Hygiene Manager is the linchpin of the hygiene department.
Key Responsibilities as Hygiene Manager:
Managing hygiene, co-ordinating team activities and maintaining audit ready hygiene standards at all times within the factory.
Managing and providing training and development for your team.
Ensure all aspects of the hygiene service are carried out and maintained to the required standard.
To maintain detailed cleaning instructions and schedules for every hygiene activity that meet the requirements of the BRC food safety standard.
Conduct COSHH assessments, risk assessments and document safe systems of work for all hygiene tasks.
Ensure all tasks are conducted in accordance with all legislative, company and site health & safety policies, and ensure that all hazards, accidents / incidents are reported and investigated in a timely manner.
Planning the work of the on-site hygiene staff to drive continual improvements in hygiene standards.
Develop and audit hygiene schedules and work instructions to ensure all regulatory inspections and certification audits are passed.
To manage and ensure efficient cleaning of factory to required standards as laid down by companies CIC's (Cleaning Instruction Cards).

Career progressionWhat we are looking for:
Knowledge of hygiene from either a Hygiene or Production background, ideally in the food industry.
Experience in an FMCG or manufacturing fast paced environment.
Strong man-management skills and confident in your ability to manage people.
A positive and proactive attitude, you will be ready to challenge the management team rather than wait for instruction.
General understanding and interest of basic food hygiene and microbiology.
Ability to form good working relationships and communicate at all levels.
COSHH training
Qualifications
Level 3 Food Safety, Level 4 would be desirable.
