Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified practitioner with experience in child and adolescent mental health under the support of our Division Children in Care Lead to lead our Children in Care Team at Dudley CAMHS. We are seeking a suitable candidate with a professional qualification in a mental health related subject ( Registered Mental Health Nurse, Occupation Therapist, Social Worker, Creative Therapist or equivalent) who can bring skills, experience and enthusiasm to meet the needs of children/ young people with complex developmental trauma, attachment difficulties and other mental health needs.
The candidates needs to be appropriately qualified and registered a professional body such as RCN, HCPC, BAAT etc. and be adhering to the relevant code of ethics and practice.
The candidate needs to be able to develop leadership skills to lead a small team under the management of the service manager.
This is an exciting time to join Dudley CAMHS as we are in the early stages of developing our Child in Care team and so the successful candidate will be joining a new venture as part of the wider established CAMHS service.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be joining a supportive and forward-thinking team who pride themselves on their commitment to the continual development and improvement of patient care. Clinical and leadership supervision, and continuing professional development, are highly valued. Additionally, there are opportunities to join peer supervision and other groups.
1. To lead and work with other members of the multi-disciplinary Children in Care CAMHS team and with colleagues from other services, providing expertise in the care of children and young people looked after and their carers.
2. To provide professional expertise in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for children and young people in the care system both in foster care or in a residential setting with highly complex mental health Conditions in particular developmental trauma and attachment difficulties.
3. To provide professional advice and support to other agencies and members of the multi-disciplinary team.
4. To work with the Divisional Children in Care lead to develop an effective Children in Care CAMH service in Dudley CAMHS.
5. To provide professional leadership and line managemen supervision to the CAMHS Children in Care Team in Dudley CAMHS.
