Job Description
Walker Group provides advanced high-precision manufacturing services from centres of excellence located in the UK and Poland. We are expanding our workforce and have an exciting opportunity to join our Basildon team as a Quality Manager.
As Quality Manager, you will ensure onsite compliance with company QMS to AS9100 REV:D certification & company quality policy. Provide effective support to all operations on the Basildon site. Support customers where required, by applying corrective actions and root cause analysis for any issues that may arise in day-to-day production.
Quality Manager Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and sustain the Quality Management System in line with the required industry standards (AS9100)
2. Maintain Quality Assurance System data
3. Support defect review/rectification activities and corrective actions
4. Act as Customer liaison for all quality-related issues/queries and complete the full cycle through to QMS system
5. Raise GRNC on suppliers regarding quality issues
6. Conduct quality notices, toolbox talks, mentoring, and training
7. Complete First Article Inspection Reports and Buddy checks
8. Perform failure trend analysis
9. Prepare for and manage monthly Internal and external audits as required
10. Create quality metrics and KPIs
11. Work closely with Inspection and Engineering teams, along with production personnel
12. Raise job cards based on results of investigations to ensure timely rework of parts
13. Support new business activity working with the commercial team
14. Ensure CofC approvals for deliveries are signed in a timely manner and returned to stores
15. Participate in Continuous Improvements projects throughout the business
16. Work as part of the team in Walker Group
17. Other duties as required
Quality Manager Qualifications & Experience:
1. Ability to self-manage and prioritise workload
2. Clear, concise communicator
3. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
4. Ability to work with customers/suppliers directly in a courteous and professional manner
5. Aerospace/defence experience is a plus
