Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Worker to join our team. As a Youth Worker, you will be responsible for providing support and guidance to young individuals in various settings. Your role will involve assisting with daily activities, promoting positive behavior, and ensuring the safety and well-being of the young people in your care.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide supervision and support to youth in various settings, such as group homes or in the community.
2. Assist with daily activities, including meal preparation, health and hygiene, and recreational activities.
3. Create a safe and nurturing environment for young people by establishing positive relationships and promoting positive behavior.
4. Collaborate with other staff members to develop and implement individualized support plans for each young person.
5. Monitor and document the progress and behavior of youth, reporting any concerns or incidents.
6. Facilitate group discussions and activities to promote social skills development and emotional well-being.
7. Administer medication as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
8. Provide transportation for young appointments or outings as needed.
Requirements:
1. Previous experience working with young people in a residential or support setting is preferred.
2. Knowledge of child development principles and techniques for behavior management.
3. Ability to communicate effectively with young people, their families, and other team members.
4. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
