What You’ll Be Doing
• Providing compassionate care – Assisting with personal care in a way that promotes dignity and independence.
• Creating tailored care plans – Acting as a key worker and ensuring individual needs are met.
• Supporting families and carers – Being a listening ear and offering guidance when needed.
• Encouraging social engagement – Leading activities that promote well-being, from reminiscence therapy to gentle physical exercises.
• Helping with mealtimes – Assisting with preparation, service, and creating a welcoming dining experience.
• Maintaining a safe and comfortable environment – Ensuring the centre remains a clean, positive, and homely space.
• Keeping accurate records – Writing reports in line with CrossReach’s policies and SSSC codes of conduct.
What We’re Looking For
• A caring and positive attitude – You genuinely want to make a difference.
• Good communication skills – Listening, encouraging, and supporting service users and their families.
• Basic computer literacy – Comfortable using Microsoft Office and the internet.
• An SVQ Level 3 in Social Care – If you don’t have this yet, you’ll need to achieve it within a set timeframe.
• Respect for our Christian ethos – Supporting service users in attending worship if they wish.
