One of our current projects is the Cambridge Waste Water Treatment Plant Relocation Scheme. In a joint venture with Anglian Water, Skanska is planning to build a modern, low carbon waste water treatment plant to provide vital services for the community and environment which will recycle water and nutrients, produce green energy and help Greater Cambridge to grow sustainably.
As such, we are looking for an Electrical Construction Manager to join our infrastructure team in the Cambridge/Peterborough area. The Electrical Construction Manager will be responsible for leading the mechanical installation and decommissioning of the existing works for the project.
You will:
1. Assist in appointment of specialist contractors and management of the specialist contractors team contracts to cost, time, quality & safety requirements.
2. Collaboratively work with key stakeholders, design team, project management team, construction team and supply chain and provide mechanical installation expertise.
3. Ensure all relevant standards, regulations and codes of practice are adhered to throughout the project life cycle.
4. Develop new ways of working to reduce carbon, increase biodiversity, address climate change, and embrace innovations and new digital technologies.
5. Manage your team, production and co-ordination of the mechanical installation programme and deliverables schedules throughout the project.
6. Lead buildability, risk, opportunity, and value engineering reviews.
7. Monitor and report on all progress on a weekly and monthly basis.
8. Manage the delivery of the project in accordance with management plans including client requirements and that contractors’ proposals are compliant with employer’s requirements.
We’re looking for:
9. Seeking candidates with extensive expertise in the water and wastewater industry. Successful applicants will have a strong background in relevant roles, demonstrating proficiency in areas such as water treatment, waste management, and regulatory compliance.
10. Time served and relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or a related field (HND/HNC, NVQ, City & Guilds).
11. Member of a relevant professional body e.g. IMechE, CIWEM.
12. Demonstrate level of competence in mechanical installation and instrumentation design in the water/waste water industry environment.
13. Experienced in the installation, commissioning and proving of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation (MEICA) systems.
14. An experienced manager of people and teams, developing others, and managing staff welfare.
15. CITB Site Manager Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS).
16. First Aid trained.
17. Full UK driver’s licence.
