You will lead a team of Peer Support Workers to inspire hope and belief in others that personal recovery from mental health problems is achievable. You will use your own experience of mental health problems and using mental health services, and those of your team, to design and shape this service to be an integral part of the Mental Health Recovery Service and wider mental health system. You will be responsible for team support and supervision, ensuring operational performance targets are met, staff are trained and supported to undertake their roles, and that the people who use the service have an excellent experience. You will model best practice in peer support within the team, within Mind and externally. You will support the team to challenge both individual and structural instances of stigma and discrimination related to mental health and other forms of exclusion. An important part working within Mind to further develop the influence and participation of people with lived experience and contribute to the development of new opportunities. At the start of the role, you will attend peer support training alongside other new team members from Mind and TEWV. This training is delivered by people with their own lived experience and experience working in peer roles.
