Part-Time Payroll Officer - 12 month contract
Do you have some Payroll or Finance administration experience? Are you confident using Microsoft Excel to include pivot tables and VLOOKUPS? Keen to secure a position with a twelve month minimum requirement? Looking for an office based role with the opportunity to switch to hybrid working after the initial training period? Are you looking for a part-time opportunity?
Come to Simplify and see just how far you can go!
If you decide this is a role for you then you'll be joining the UK's largest group of conveyancers, a business that is constantly looking to expand, and one that champions HR and strategic innovation.
The Payroll Officer is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all company payrolls under the Simplify group banner, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and day-to-day management of a Payroll Administrator.
As the main contact within the Payroll team, the jobholder will possess strong communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with all internal & external stakeholders. In addition, the role holder will play a key part in the day-to-day management of our various Group benefits including pension schemes, as well as providing advice and support to the Head of People Services & Reward and the CPO on various initiatives & projects.
For you to do all of this, we will need a few bits from you...
You'll need to have some Finance, and ideally Payroll, experience - this is not an entry level role into the sector.
You will have an understanding of the relevance and impact of pensions, employee benefits, tax, legislation and statutory obligations to a Payroll department.
The role will require IT proficiency, including advanced knowledge of Excel, with an expert ability to use this programme to run reports, review data, manipulate spreadsheets and conduct close analysis.
The position will be responsible for the supervision and mentoring of a junior team member, so it is expected you will have had some experience of looking after more junior team members previously.
You will need to be within commuting distance of our office in St. Ives, Cambridgeshire and willing to attend site full-time until fully trained in the role (we anticipate approximately 12 weeks). Subsequently, the role can be switched to a hybrid model ie, 3 days office, 2 days remote.
This role is part-time and we are interested in hearing from suitable candidates who are looking for a minimum of 2.5 days or 18.75 hours work per week. Additional days/hours are available for those wanting to commit to more.
This position is available on a 12 month fixed term contract.
