Job title: Electrical Engineer
Location: Barrow-in-Furness - On site
Salary: GBP35,802+ Depending on skills and experience
What you will be doing:
1. Operate high-voltage (HV) switchgear in accordance with approved switching programs and operating instructions under the direct supervision of the duty Senior Authorised Person (SAP)
2. Oversee and coordinate HV work orders, ensuring tasks are completed safely and efficiently
3. Progress towards becoming an Authorised Person (AP), gaining the necessary qualifications and experience
4. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HV equipment and the site's electrical network to ensure optimal performance and reliability
Your skills and experiences:
1. Hold a HNC or recognised Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship
2. Be Familiar with types of equipment, installations, and high voltage system line ups
3. Previous experience as an electrician or technician maintaining or operating High Voltage equipment

The High Voltage Engineering team:
The Site Specialist Engineering High Voltage Team plays a critical role in supporting the business by overseeing the control, operation, and maintenance of the site's high-voltage network. This team provides expert guidance on electrical standards and supports a broad range of electrical disciplines, offering opportunities to expand expertise in Low Voltage (LV), High Voltage (HV), Control & Instrumentation (C&I), and Communications. You will also have the opportunity to grow your own skills as you will be supported to become an Authorised Person.
