A great opportunity to work as An Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper and join the Head Office Engineering Team in Bridgend.
The main function of the role will be to control all aspects of the Purchase Ledger, Staff and Site Expenses for several Group Companies, from data collection, verification and approval, to uploading to Sage Line 50.
You will need excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a small head office team.
This role is office-based.
Essential Skills and Knowledge:
· Previous experience in providing high-quality bookkeeping records
· Good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Packages (Excel, Outlook and Word)
· Working knowledge of Sage Line 50 or similar
· Highly numerate with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
· Demonstrates organisational skills to manage time effectively, meeting objectives and deadlines
· Data management skills
· Strong and effective communicator, both written and verbal
· Highly self-motivated, proactive, personable and a team player
· Copes well under pressure whilst working to tight deadlines
· Be comfortable working alone and also in a small team.
· Able to demonstrate initiative
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Code/Gain Approval/Process purchase invoices and weekly site expenses
· Process monthly company credit card statements
· Reconcile supplier / site expense statements
· File invoices and statements
· Deal with purchase enquiries
· Maintain accurate records on Excel and Sage Line 50
· Balance Sheet Reconciliations
· Assisting with the preparation of monthly MI, VAT Returns, audits, etc.
· Assist with the smooth day to day running of the department
· Ad hoc duties / projects
The role requires a minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above to include English and Mathematics. A levels or NVQ level 3 or above (in HR, Finance or Administration) are an advantage. Studying towards AAT desirable
Minimum 2 Years’ Experience in a similar type role
Working hours are 8:45-16:45 Monday to Friday, 33 days holidays and contributory pension with other bens
