At 21st Century Cyber Charter School, we develop our Pennsylvania-certified educators to deliver an online, rigorous, mastery-based, standards-aligned curriculum as we prepare students to be productive, contributing members of society.
LOCATION: Remote/Work From Home
SUMMARY OF POSITION: All teachers will support the school mission and vision, and have the primary responsibility to plan and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons that meet state-mandated standards via an online synchronous/asynchronous environment. Each teacher will also serve as an Academic Advisor for an assigned caseload of students, communicate regularly and effectively with students/parents according to established procedures, and participate in proctoring state-mandated testing, school field trips, community outreach, and marketing events.
It is essential that incumbents in this position are able to be flexible to meet the asynchronous, online teaching environment and fulfill the occasional travel requirements of the position, which can include overnight accommodation.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Plan and execute developmentally appropriate lessons in assigned content area(s) through the online management learning system; differentiate instruction for all students; implement IEP accommodations and modifications.
2. Maintain all assigned courses to high standards, adjust lessons and assessments as necessary.
3. Gather resources that assist in addressing/incorporating state standards into lessons, instructional materials, and assessments.
4. Schedule and maintain regular virtual office hours.
5. Regularly monitor and maintain student attendance expectations.
6. Monitor assessment data to support informed instructional decision-making (including but not limited to Progress Monitoring, PVAAS, Keystone, PSSA, etc.)
7. Provide timely feedback to students to support students to reach content mastery goals/targets.
8. Serve as Academic Advisor to assigned caseload of students, following established procedures.
9. Participate in proctoring state-mandated testing, school field trips, community outreach, and marketing events.
10. Collaborate effectively with department and cohort peers to ensure academic goals are appropriate and instructional strategies are effective to reach identified student outcomes.
11. Maintain accurate records and information in SIS, following established procedures.
12. Manage a caseload of special education students and the implementation of their IEP.
13. Adapt classroom work for the purpose of providing students with instructional materials that address individualized learning plans within established lesson plans.
14. Assess student progress towards objectives, expectations, and/or goals for the purpose of providing feedback to students, parents, and administration.
15. Communicate accommodations, modifications, grading guidelines, and/or behavioral plans to all involved with the student.
16. Ensure all timelines are met.
17. Facilitate Individual Education Program (IEP) and initiate Reevaluation meetings.
18. Monitor the IEP implementation.
19. Collect, analyze, report data in a meaningful manner.
20. Ensure IEPs are developmentally appropriate, curriculum/standards based, and relevant to individual students.
21. Facilitate workshops/meetings for parents, as well as identify resources for parents of students with special needs.
22. As appropriate connect with student’s outside providers, pediatricians, and therapists to support student’s needs in the classroom.
23. Perform any other duties/projects as assigned by the Director of Special Education.
24. Bargaining unit members may be required to be onsite for 10 State Testing Days, 5 August Professional Development Days at either West Chester or Murrysville location, and attend one graduation ceremony.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelors Degree from Accredited University or College
* Masters degree in Education desirable
Professional or Other Required Certifications:
* PA Instructional I or II Certification(s) in Special Education
* Act 34, 151, and 114 Clearances
Schedule: 10 Month/195 Day
Monday-Friday 7:30am-3:30pm
