The Opportunity
As our client continues to deliver exciting and significant projects across their nuclear team, their goal is to allow their engineers to focus on what they do best - delivering exceptional design solutions for their clients. To support this continuous development, they're currently seeking an experienced Piping Engineer to join their vibrant and bustling team based in Bristol.

The Role
As the Piping Engineer you will support the Instrumentation Lead Engineer in the delivery of work packages associated with the EM09 NSSS Instrumentation scope, overseeing the piping contribution specific to that scope.
Your Duties and Responsibilities will include:
1. Participation in the CTS delivery process including participation and chairing kick-off meetings and delivery of documentation.
2. Oversee the piping & support design (clamp, beams, anchor plate...) and their modelling in the 3D model.
3. Preparation of CAD tasks for designers in tracker (until transition to We-CAD) and following up completion, maintaining a high quality for all aspects of design in the PDMS model.
4. Participate in and lead troubleshooting investigations for emergent design issues.
5. Ensure the right application of the engineering procedures by the designers and the overall consistency of the piping and support design (distance between runs, position of welds and openings, etc.).
6. Interface with other departments of the organisation to facilitate closure of issues.
7. Ensure that the design is mature and can be handed over to the client, and that the hand-over package fulfills the requirements given by the Project.
8. Ensure the right level of communication between different stakeholders (calculation team, layout, equipment), propose technical solutions to issues that are found on the generic design concept.
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
1. Mechanical Engineering degree or suitable diploma.
2. Experience with EPR-E Piping delivery processes.
3. Knowledge of piping engineering and plant design principles commensurate with grade.
4. Proactive and self-motivated in completion of tasks.
5. Ability to meet commitments and deadlines.
6. Able to follow project engineering procedures.
7. Ideally have knowledge of Aveva PDMS/E3D or experience with similar plant design packages.
8. You'll need to be able to obtain Basic Security Clearance BPSS before a start date can be given.
