Role Overview/job Purpose
We are looking for an Assistant Graphic Designer to support the newly expanding design team in creating visual content for both internal and external audiences across various media platforms, including digital, video, presentations, print and social media.
While you will support both marketing and internal communications activities, you will spend the majority of time supporting internal communications design activities. You will be responsible for assisting with tasks such as designing marketing materials, developing visual concepts, preparing mockups, and editing images.
You will work with the creative lead to refine design ideas, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines, project objectives and effective design principles. As a junior designer you will also be responsible for managing design assets, implementing feedback, and being a guardian of the brand.
Job Description
* Create marketing material to brand standards for various marketing campaigns, from initial ideation to final deliverables, contributing in all aspects of the creative process including ideation, mock-ups, concept development and final deliverable.
* Prepare high-level presentations where needed with data visualisation and illustration to enhance.
* Assist with creating events materials such as exhibition assets and signage.
* Assist with office space branding.
* Design and build assets for social media in static posts, animated GIF’s and video formats.
* Respond to feedback on drafts, making or challenging suggested changes.
* Use and evolve our visual identity and approaches for our internal facing audience.
* Champion the brand to help drive standards and consistency across all marketing and internal communications channels, ensuring the corporate brand and technical excellence standards are properly represented in all outputs.
Person specification
Essential
* Some experience of working on design tasks.
* Competency across the full Adobe creative suite, including a high level of competency in InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator and some knowledge of AfterEffects and Premiere Pro.
* Good knowledge of layout principles, typography, and colour theory.
* Basic understanding of print and web design principles and familiarity with digital and print production.
* Ability to work to template as well as bespoke whilst still maintaining core brand principles.
* Strong attention to detail, fully able to produce accurate, on-brand and proof-checked assets.
* Able to deliver ‘business as usual’ activities efficiently and to deadlines.
* Confident in taking briefs, ensuring clarity/understanding of the task, with successful execution.
* Committed to being a good communicator and collaborator, able to form good relationships across the function.
Desired
* Creative / design or related degree, or other qualification from an appropriate body.
* Some experience of working in a medium to large sized marketing function or agency.
* Experience of video editing, motion design or a willingness and eagerness to learn these programs.
* Appetite to learn new skills and software and the aptitude to master them quickly.
* Highly organised and able to work with multiple stakeholders and colleagues on a variety of tasks simultaneously.
* Flexible to work to shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
