About the role:
A fantastic opportunity for an Engineering Team Leader has arisen to join the team at our Bo'ness site. You will be responsible for the management, prioritisation & allocation of ad-hoc reactive engineering tasks and ensuring that planned tasks are carried out to the correct standards. Our Bo'ness site employs over 1,000 people and produces food-to-go salads and salad accompaniments to a number of customers.
Accountabilities:
1. Understand the site daily priorities/plans, direct and motivate the engineering shift team as required.
2. Manage the engineering team (including contractors) to ensure delivery of scheduled work and reactive work so that plant availability is optimised.
3. Implement agreed training & development plans to meet engineering & production needs. Comply with statutory & Bakkavor Health & Safety requirements.
4. Ensure engineering downtime is minimised, accurately logged, and monitor the repair time.
5. Communicate, report and update Production Shift Managers and relevant Production Team Leaders regarding current breakdown status.
6. Ensure all stock is logged in and out of the stores area highlighting any stock issues.
7. Maintain standards of hygiene and good housekeeping appropriate to a quality food manufacturer.
8. Be the Engineering point of contact during & out of hours.
9. Respond to and prioritise the shift to resolve line running issues.
10. Carry out all other ad-hoc Management requests as consistent with the role.
About you:
It is essential that you have:
* Approved Engineering or Mechanical apprentice (City & Guilds and Certificate).
* Fault-finding skills.
* Understanding of problem-solving techniques; RCA, 5Y.
* Experience and understanding of machine controls and PLCs.
* Practical mechanical and electrical experience within a production environment, ideally in food manufacturing.
* Demonstrable understanding of Production prioritisation (desirable).
