The Service Department is responsible for the delivery of cleaning, catering (ward based) and portering services, covering all wards, departments, clinics and corporate areas. Enhancements for night time, bank holiday and weekend work are offered as a part of this role. This is a physically active role with elements of operating cleaning equipment, carrying, lifting & moving patients & items. Therefore, the person undertaking this role will need to be relatively physically fit. Interviews will be held on the 16th January 2025. Service Assistants undertake all appropriate cleaning and portering duties within the hospital maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness in the hospital. Candidates should: Be able to communicate verbally with others clearly & courteously. Be polite, reliable and responsible. Understand how to maintain good working relationships. Have experience of team work. Have ability to work efficiently, effectively and professionally. Be prepared to undertake training and development. Be prepared to operate IT devices & software.
