In our rapidly growing private equity backed business, you will play a pivotal role in leading a team of 8 including management accounts, accounts payable and credit control. This is a senior finance role which will oversee all of the internal and external financial reporting, financial controls and forecasting and management of cash. Who will you be working for?
NRG Riverside is the UK’s largest municipal and specialist fleet hire company, we provide specialist vehicles on short and long-term hire, a range of vehicle maintenance packages and we offer a large portfolio of high-quality used vehicles for sale. NRG Riverside has the skills, knowledge, and expertise to support all your operational needs. Established in 1996, we’ve supported our valued customers to rationalise and decarbonise their fleets, save money and improve efficiency by reducing ‘Vehicle Off Road’ (VOR) time.
What candidate are we looking for?
* An ACA or ACCA Chartered Accountant who qualified with a Top 10 accountancy firm who has at least 2 years post-qualification experience in industry or in practice.
* Strong technical accounting skills and familiarity with audit processes and statutory accounts.
* Highly organised and comfortable managing multiple tasks to tight deadlines.
* Confident talking to team members as well as to other managers and directors within our business.
* A problem solver and process improver – you will proactively look for ways to make processes and controls better.
* A confident professional with excellent communication skills.
* Hardworking and flexible with a willingness to take on new tasks and sometimes get involved in projects beyond the core finance remit.
* Process-driven and someone who likes to utilise systems to ensure robust processes and controls.
* Located near our head office in Skelmersdale, Lancashire where the majority of your time will be spent, with a willingness to travel to other sites occasionally as needed.
What will be your duties?
* Management and leadership of a growing finance team (currently 8) across management accounts, accounts payable and credit control.
* Responsible for the production of accurate, timely management accounts and board packs.
* Ownership of the annual audit process from planning through to filing of statutory accounts and corporation tax returns. Familiar with UK GAAP / FRS102.
* Working closely with overhead departments to help them understand and analyse their costs.
* Responsibility for balance sheet reconciliations and controls, ensuring these are accurate and there is an awareness of risks and opportunities within these.
* Providing leadership and development to the finance team, some of whom are studying for accountancy qualifications.
* Working with our external tax advisors to ensure corporation tax returns are submitted accurately and on time.
* Full responsibility for control and forecasting of cash and reviewing and authorising payments including the twice monthly supplier payment runs.
* Oversight of the credit control and accounts payable teams, helping the team to resolve the issues that regularly come up in these areas (late payment of invoices, supplier disputes, etc).
* Overall ownership of the annual budget and half year reforecast packs, combining the submissions from the trading areas to produce and overall group budget/forecast.
* Building relationships with our core bank as well as other banks from whom we borrow to fund business growth. Managing reporting requirements for these banks.
* Oversight and review of the group’s monthly payroll.
* Involvement in significant finance related projects such as acquisitions, new finance systems, etc.
