A new and fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Shift Engineer to join the Engineering team at the Avonmouth Bristol bakery.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Input into the implementation of maintenance procedures, engineering standards/specifications, Risk assessments, method statements, and other SHHEQ systems.
2. Ensure own compliance with all relevant Hovis and Legislative Health & Safety requirements within the working environment.
3. Support the Operator Maintainers in 1st line fault identification and rectification.
4. Conduct 2nd line fault finding on Plant upsets and equipment malfunctions, implementing suitable corrective actions.
5. Undertake corrective maintenance and bench overhaul activities as required.
6. Review and technically validate all CILTs (Clean, Inspect, Lubricate, Test) generated by the autonomous maintenance team, escalating items that fall outside own skills base and experience.
7. Review and authorise Autonomous Maintenance counter measures.
8. Raise Tags and undertake appropriate counter measures to eradicate issues.
9. Initiate dynamic risk assessments.
10. Provide technical support and training to the Operator Maintainers on all aspects of maintenance.
11. Initiate RCA (Root Cause Analysis) investigations into Plant issues and equipment malfunctions.
12. Implement condition-based inspections of equipment in distress and determine corrective action plans.
13. Participate in PPPM’s and line overhauls as requested by the Shift Manager/Engineering Lead.
14. Record/register stop information into the tracking system to assist loss deployment groups and reliability improvement initiatives.
15. Ensure consumable spares and suitable lubricants are available to the Operator Maintainer teams.
16. Define and standardise optimum changeover processes.
17. Accountability for withdrawing stock from engineering stores.
Ideal Experiences / Qualifications / Capabilities:
1. Recognised time served apprenticeship in an engineering discipline with HNC/HND.
2. Demonstrable experience of maintenance within an automated FMCG/bakery environment.
3. Successfully undertaken a skills conversion program.
4. Desirable Experience of working in a bakery.
5. Basic food hygiene qualification.
6. Gas Training.
7. 17th Edition Electrical regs.
8. Risk Assessment & Method Statement Training.
