Take a closer look at the role: Job Description: The Compliance Manager ensures that all activities within the sport adhere to legal, regulatory, and ethical standards. They are responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance with the rules set by governing bodies like the FIA and local laws in race-hosting countries. Additionally, they manage risks associated with non-compliance, promote ethical behaviour, and ensure data protection. By conducting training programs, they educate employees and stakeholders about compliance requirements and best practices. Overall, the Compliance Manager helps maintain the integrity and reputation of the organisation by ensuring responsible and lawful conduct in all operations. What you will be doing: Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant laws and regulations, including data protection. Stay updated on changes in legislation and regulatory requirements, and implement necessary adjustments to compliance programs. Provide guidance on regulatory issues to internal teams and ensure that all business practices comply with applicable laws. Corporate Compliance: Oversee corporate compliance programs to ensure the organization adheres to internal policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements, including anti-bribery and anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, sanctions, anti-trust, conflicts of interest, modern slavery, and human rights. Foster a culture of integrity and accountability. Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with F1 operations. Develop and implement risk management strategies, including conducting regular risk assessments, creating risk mitigation plans, and ensuring contingency plans are in place. Assist with the preparation, adoption, and updating of the risk register across the company. Monitor and review the effectiveness of risk management processes and make necessary adjustments to address emerging risks. Policy Development: Create and maintain up-to-date compliance policies and procedures, ensuring they are effectively communicated to all stakeholders. Training and Education: Conduct training sessions to ensure employees understand compliance requirements and their roles in maintaining compliance. Monitoring and Auditing: Regularly monitor and audit operations to ensure compliance with internal and external standards, including conducting internal audits and coordinating with external auditors. Incident Management: Manage compliance-related incidents, investigate breaches, and implement corrective actions. Reporting: Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management and regulatory bodies, documenting compliance activities and outcomes. Stakeholder Engagement : Collaborate with various departments, teams, and external partners to ensure compliance across all areas of the organization. Project Management: Manage other projects through to successful completion as identified by the Director of Legal Affairs. Evolving Responsibilities: Adapt to the changing needs of the team, taking on new responsibilities as required to support the dynamic environment of Formula 1 racing. Requirements Extensive experience managing ethics and compliance programs in major commercial organizations, with particular expertise in anti-bribery and anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, sanctions, anti-trust, conflicts of interest, modern slavery, and human rights. Proven ability to develop, implement, and deliver compliance objectives on time and within budget, while working within a high-profile, commercial environment. Collaborative team player with strong internal stakeholder management capabilities. Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to produce reports, policies, and provide advice and training as necessary. Commercial and pragmatic working style. Analytical Skills : Ability to analyse complex risk and regulatory issues and provide clear, actionable advice. Attention to Detail : High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work. Leadership : Experience in leading and managing compliance teams or projects. Technological Proficiency : Familiarity with compliance management software and tools. Continuous Improvement : Commitment to staying updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes, and continuously improving compliance processes.
