We are now looking for a Financial Analyst – Estates and Digital Services to join our Carmarthen or Swansea campus on a Full time, Permanent basis, working 37 hours per week. THE ROLE In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in executing the financial strategy and business plans of our institution with specific focus on the Estates and Digital Services departments who between them have operating budgets in excess of £20m across salaries and operating expenditure in addition to an annual capital expenditure budget and commercial income in excess of £13m. Developing and executing the annual budget for the departments is the core purpose of the role with a focus in building a financially sustainable University balanced with ensuring that key activity is supported. As such the role will ensure that key stakeholders have access to, and fully understand, appropriate data and insights throughout the year, including ensuring an effective business planning and analysis cycle is in place and the University is able to respond quickly to emerging trends impacting the departments. ABOUT YOU To be considered as a Financial Analyst – Estates and Digital Services, you will need: Educated to degree level in a Finance or Business subject Relevant accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) Experience in financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, or related roles with appropriate budget size responsibility Experience of budgetary planning, scrutiny and management in a complex organisation with large data sets Strong in-depth knowledge of financial management, accounting policies, practices and procedures Advanced proficiency in financial modelling, data analysis, and Excel Proven track record of influencing decision-making processes and fostering development Strategic mindset and business acumen, with a focus on driving value and achieving financial objectives. Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality in all deliverables. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines Possesses good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and across departments Ability to work unsupervised and to motivate others Able to lead and develop small teams Able to demonstrate process improvement through own initiatives and reviews. Recognises the need for and demonstrates appropriate confidentiality Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence and persuade senior stakeholders.
