The Keele Postgraduate Association (KPA) is the dedicated students’ union for postgraduates at Keele University, the only separate postgraduate union in the country! Our mission is to provide specialist support and representation, ensuring the postgraduate community thrives.
About the Role
We are looking for a Finance and Administration Officer to join our team! This key role ensures the smooth running of our financial, administrative, and operational activities. From managing our bursary scheme to supporting trustee meetings and charity compliance, this role is integral to our success.
This is a part-time, fixed-term position for 12 months, with the potential for extension. The role is office-based at Keele University, with some flexibility for hybrid working.
Key Responsibilities
* Finance: Processing invoices, payroll management, bank reconciliations, and liaising with accountants.
* KPA Bursary Scheme: Managing applications, student support, and bursary committee meetings.
* Charity Commission Reporting: Maintaining trustee records and ensuring compliance.
* Committee Elections: Assisting with elections and onboarding new officers.
* Postgraduate Celebration Event: Supporting event planning and overseeing the Bob Beattie Awards.
* Trustee Meetings: Organising meetings, preparing agendas, and taking minutes.
* General Duties: Acting as the first point of contact, ensuring smooth operations.
Who We're Looking For
* At least 2 years’ experience in a finance/administrative role
* Degree-qualified
* Experience working in a charity, students’ union, or similar organisation
* Strong knowledge of financial procedures and compliance
* Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
* Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently
