The Role
The FDI Analyst will play a critical role in supporting Thames Freeport’s efforts to attract major investments and foster trade partnerships. Working closely with the Trade & Investment team, the analyst will conduct in-depth research, help develop outreach strategies, and engage with potential investors.
NOTE: This is a 12-month FTC a hybrid opportunity with offices based in London.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct quantitative and qualitative research to support Thames Freeport’s trade and investment objectives, utilizing a range of data sources.
* Analyse trade and investment signals, staying informed on trends and expanding companies relevant to Freeport’s growth strategy.
* Develop and implement targeted outreach strategies, identifying potential investors and partners aligned with Thames Freeport’s objectives.
* Engage with potential investors and partners, assessing interest and qualifications for investment and partnership opportunities.
* Prepare stakeholder interviews and schedule meetings with companies to support client projects and investor journeys.
* Create presentations and visual materials that communicate key insights, contributing to deliverables for the Trade & Investment team.
* Perform data analysis in Excel, leveraging basic functions and pivot tables to support decision-making.
* Coordinate with investment and trade consultants, assisting with project management tasks and ensuring efficient processes.
* Arrange meetings and calls on behalf of senior consultants, facilitating smooth interactions with investors and partners.
Essential Criteria
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Business, Economics, Geography, or a related discipline.
* 5-6 years of experience in a business environment, ideally within an international business, trade, or FDI context.
* Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to manage and interpret large data volumes.
* Excellent communication skills in English, with proficiency in Dutch, French, or German (advantageous).
* Proficiency in Excel for data analysis and presentation software for client deliverables.
* Proactive approach with demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
* Previous experience in a trade, investment, or FDI role, with knowledge of FDI processes.
