The company A leading main contractor working on both new build and refurbishment projects across London and the South East requires an experienced Bid Writer to join their team in Kent. It is a company that genuinely sees people as their greatest asset, which is one of the reasons they have picked up awards in Leadership & People Development at the Constructing Excellence awards, won NFB Employer of the Year and are recognised as having reached the Platinum standard when it comes to Investors in People. With them you’ll enjoy a progressive, rewarding career in a company with a strong family culture and training opportunities. These are just some of reasons why the average length of service is 17 years. Outstanding opportunities for talented and ambitious people. They are expanding as a company. In part that is because of a high level of repeat work with private companies and also due to the fact that they are on a number of frameworks, including one that is worth £3bn over the next 5 years and that in turn means exciting opportunities for your career and development. They are committed to the ethos of 'hiring for attitude and training for skill’ and their coaching programme, alongside their various training programmes, ensures that every individual is nurtured and supported to fulfil their potential. This approach combined with the opportunities they give people is why the staff turnover rate is just 1.8% PA. Key Responsibilities Writing answers to PQQs, tender and interview submissions Coordinate the various different parties involved in getting you the information that you need in order to write answers in a timely manner. Development and maintenance of in-house Bid Library of information and responses -Examples of that include: CAD plans, Tender Stage plans and written statements for deployment to accelerate efficiency and standardise quality. Producing a library of company profiles tailored for individual sectors and project types. Re-profiling of company case studies and CV's Download and upload of tender information from portals and issue to relevant parties Type of work: Project examples consist of hospitals, universities, care homes, schools, and high-end residential projects. With an annual turnover circa £45m and with project values typically ranging between £6M and £20M being delivered across 5 frameworks as well as their traditional client base this organisation is expanding and needs people like you. While this success is hard won they have invested in hiring people with a passion for construction, who buy into an ethos of teamwork and they have invested heavily in making sure their systems and processes keep pace with an evolving industry. This includes Building Information Modelling and VR technology which has been hugely beneficial not only in the delivery phase but also in in securing the tenders in the first place. Desired Knowledge and Experience The key point to make here is that while more experience is better than less what my client looks for first and foremost is passion for construction, a desire to be a part of a team and a willingness to improve both yourself and what has been done before. Obviously the more experience you have of the above the better but it is by no means the be all and end all if you don't. In return My client pays a market leading base salary along with a car allowance, pension, 34 days holiday (inc the 8 days bank holiday) and everyone is enrolled in the profit share scheme where 50% of the net profits are returned to all staff.
