Background:
The Offender Subject Access Request team sits within the MoJ’s Security, Services and Information Governance Group Directorate. The team manages and processes subject access requests (SARs) on behalf of the MoJ, liaising with its agencies to retrieve personal information held on the requestor and preparing it for release in compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA).
Role Purpose:
This is an exciting opportunity to become a team leader within an expanding team responsible for overseeing the Department’s response to SARs made under the DPA by offenders. You will be responsible for managing an administrative team, ensuring requests are completed within statutory timeframes and developing staff to reach their full potential.
Main Activities / Responsibilities:
* Lead, manage and motivate the team to ensure requests are completed on time and lawfully.
* Plan internal resources and allocate work effectively.
* Conduct quality checks and address performance issues in line with HR policy.
* Act as a role model, demonstrating and encouraging supportive behaviours.
* Identify and meet learning and development needs for all staff.
* Provide advice and assistance to stakeholders on processing offender SARs.
* Assist with general office duties as required.
Person Specification:
Essential skills:
* Experience of leading a team.
* Experience in a digital environment, streamlining processes.
* Experience of delivering customer service excellence.
Desirable skills:
* Knowledge of the DPA and GDPR.
* Experience of working in or with HMPPS.
* Experience in supporting/mentoring roles.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
