They work closely with the Director of Studies to support teachers with planning, deliver, paperwork, and training. They will adhere to BSC Code of Conduct and Safeguarding Policies while working with us. Senior Teachers may be asked to participate in non-academic duties if the need arises. Accommodation and Meals are included in the salary offered. The main duties and responsibilities are listed below: Duties: Plan and Deliver language focused and engaging lessons. Teach a minimum of 15 hours a week 27 hours of academic course support duties/cover as needed Be the first person on cover duties Follow BSC syllabus Complete weekly planners, attendance sheets, and student reports. Be observed and receive feedback Conduct teacher observations with support from the DoS Carry out any other duties the centre DoS asks Support teachers with lesson planning and delivery Deliver at least 1 INSETT session Assist with graduation photos and project showcase days Work as part of the academic team and support the summer team as a whole. Attend and participate in academic meetings and INSETT sessions. Assist with placement testing Attend induction held at the centre Remain professional at all times Comply with BSC Uniform Policy – BSC t-shirts are provided Comply with BSC Centre rules and regulations Be a positive role model Child Protection & Safeguarding To promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young persons you are responsible for and come into contact with. Familiarise yourself with the BSC Young Learners Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy and BSC Safeguarding Policy. To adhere to the BSC Young Learners Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy and BSC Safeguarding Policy. Report any student absence to the Welfare Team and Director of Studies Report safeguarding issues if/when they occur Complete BSC Safeguarding Level 1 Online before you arrive at the centre Other Work positively as part of a team Demonstrate a positive attitude Attend and participate in all centre team meetings. Act in the welfare of the students at all times To carry out any duties as may be reasonably assigned by the Centre Qualifications and Experience: CELTA plus substantial young learner teaching experience/Trinity TESOL DELTA modules or MA TESOL/ linguistics modules At least 2 years’ experience working with young learners High level of computer literacy, particularly MS Office, email, and use of databases Excellent lesson planning skills Adaptability and flexibility Ability to work well in a team Ability to remain calm under pressure Enthusiasm for summer school life Right to work in the UK/EU (depending on the respective centre) Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance.
