Job Title: Senior Energy & Carbon Consultant\n\nLocation: Birmingham\n\nSalary: £35,000 - £60,000 + £5,000 Car Allowance\n\nAbout the Role\n\nWe are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Energy & Carbon Consultant to join a expanding sustainability-focused consultancy. As part of a dynamic and highly skilled team, you'll play a key role in delivering impactful low-carbon solutions, supporting the full cycle from early client engagement through to execution and delivery - no requirement to win work, just focus on delivering exceptional outcomes. \n\nYou'll be joining an established & growing team of 4 energy assessors which are responsible for completing energy assessments across the UK for a variety of buldings (e.g., distribution centres, retail outlets, multiuse developments, residential estates, commercial offices etc).\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nLead and deliver complex energy assessments across a wide range of sectors.\n\nProduce Commercial Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) at a professional level.\n\nConduct advanced building modelling using IES-VE or DesignBuilder for Net Zero Carbon reporting.\n\nDeliver residential carbon modelling and SAP calculations.\n\nLead or contribute to BREEAM and BREEAM AP proposals and tenders.\n\nConduct embodied and operational carbon LCA using OneClickLCA.\n\nPrepare sustainability and energy strategy reports for planning and compliance.\n\nDeliver feasibility studies for renewable installations (e.g., solar, LED, fabric).\n\nAct as a key advisor to internal PMs, QSs, and Surveyors on sustainability aspects of construction and retrofit projects.\n\nShadow the Head of Energy & Carbon in client meetings and learn how to shape and scope deliverables into invoices.\n\nMentor junior team members and contribute to team development.\n\nIdeally you'll have\n\nMinimum of 3-5 years' experience in a similar consultancy or technical role.\nLevel 5 EPC Assessor certification (essential).\n\nProven experience with IES-VE or DesignBuilder.\n\nWorking knowledge of OneClickLCA or other LCA tools.\n\nUnderstanding of BREEAM frameworks and requirements.\n\nStrong client-facing ability and communication skills.\n\nOrganised, commercially aware and able to manage multiple projects.\n\nA passion for sustainability and a drive to innovate.\n\nWhy Join?\n\nWork for a fast-growing business with £30m+ revenue and a strong reputation in sustainable design.\n\nNo business development pressure - focus on delivery and leadership.\n\nAccelerators Bonus Scheme - earn 25% of invoiced work above 3x your salary (paid at Christmas).\n\nWork with clients like Siemens, NEXT, CBRE, and Knight Frank.\n\nCross-disciplinary exposure to solar PV, LED, and building fabric retrofits.\n\nJoin a supportive, forward-thinking culture where innovation is encouraged.\n\nIf you're interested and would like more information then feel free to get in touch with Danny Brookes from Calibre Search\n\nCalibre Search promote equality in the workplace and we welcome applications from all suitably skilled or qualified candidates regardless of their sex, race, disability, religion/beliefs, sexual orientation or age.
