Job Title: Youth and Communities Co-ordinator
Job Description: Are you passionate about supporting young people to reach their full potential? YMCA Worcestershire is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Youth and Communities Co-ordinator. In this role, you’ll design and deliver high-quality, safe, and inclusive activities year-round, guiding and supporting young people aged 8-15 in their personal, social, and educational development through engaging community programs.
Responsible to: Youth and Communities Manager
Responsible for: Youth and Communities Workers, Senior Youth Workers, Assistant Youth Workers, Volunteers, and young people during youth work sessions.
Hours of work: 40 hours per week (Working pattern negotiable but to include some non-standard working hours)
Salary: £28,080 per annum
Location(s): Various within the county of Worcestershire, based in Redditch

Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and facilitate youth sessions, workshops, activities, and mentoring.
* Support young people in informal learning and skill development.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with young people, staff, and volunteers.
* Collaborate with partners to design and deliver targeted interventions.
* Assist in recruitment and training of volunteers.
* Mentor young people in a school setting.
* Undertake operational responsibility for YMCAW local youth clubs/projects.
* Assess the needs of young people to plan and deliver appropriate activities.
* Ensure all legal requirements are met, including risk assessments.
* Develop and maintain relationships with the wider community and external agencies.
* Record and report back on key performance data.
* Promote young people’s interests at local youth forums and other events.
* Identify sources of funding for projects to improve services and resources for young people.
* Line manage Senior and Assistant Youth Workers, and effectively manage, supervise, and develop staff, apprentices, and volunteers.
Requirements:
* Minimum Level 3 in Youth Work or willingness to achieve this in post.
* At least 2 years of experience working face-to-face with young people.
* At least 1 year of experience supervising youth workers and/or volunteers.
* Full driving license and access to a car for work purposes.
* Ability to work evenings, weekends, and on residential programs as required.

Person Specification and Key Competencies:
Knowledge:
* Understanding of confidentiality as it pertains to young people, especially vulnerable young people.
* Knowledge of the issues affecting young people’s lives including the challenges and barriers they experience.
* Awareness of the boundaries that govern the youth/youth worker relationship.
* Thorough understanding of relevant legislation and policies relating to safeguarding children.
Personal Attributes:
* Clear commitment to working with young people.
* Diplomacy and sensitivity to internal and external political issues.
* Be an advocate for YMCA Worcestershire.
