We have an exciting opportunity for an appropriately experienced and qualified senior clinician to join our team as an advanced practitioner within our learning disability pathways across both Sunderland and South Tyneside CYPS teams.
Main Duties of the Job
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and supporting the learning disability pathway, offering senior clinical support, supervision, and role modelling for colleagues.
There will be an expectation to carry a small complex caseload of patients as well as upskilling and supporting the wider team.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Attending, chairing, and leading on MDT meetings, child protection conferences, multi-agency, and risk management meetings both internally and with external partners.
2. Supporting the development and delivery of PBS care plans and other behavioural support plans appropriate for the patient population.
3. Providing clinical supervision to colleagues.
4. Supporting the team and clinical manager with service improvement initiatives and ensuring high-quality care is delivered.
5. Care coordination.
6. Supervision.
7. Senior practitioner support to the wider team.
8. Leading on complaints and After Action Reviews when appropriate.
9. Ensuring high standards of care and treatment including upskilling staff clinically as well as ensuring adherence to documentation and record-keeping standards.
10. Offering training and delivering presentations.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* First Level Nursing Qualification and Registration or equivalent first level qualification e.g., Social Worker, OT, Clinical Psychologist, other.
* PBS qualification or working towards.
* Post qualifying experience in relevant therapy.
Experience
* Relevant clinical experience appropriate for role/transferable skills & knowledge.
* Experience of supervising colleagues.
* Highly developed specialist knowledge of meeting the health needs of patients with Mental Health and/or Learning Disabilities and/or Cognitive difficulties underpinned by theory and experience.
* Safeguarding and risk management experience.
* Experience of delivering training and/or presentations.
* Experience of working within MDT and with external colleagues.
* Experience of working within community settings.
Skills
* Demonstrate IT skills and a good working knowledge of the patient electronic record.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to de-escalate and support with challenging situations/conflict resolution.
* Demonstrate excellent Clinical Leadership skills.
