Job Title: Instrumentation, Control and Automation Field Performance Manager
Location: - Kent. Hybrid working 2/3 days per week with site visits and meetings.
Employment Type: Permanent

We are recruiting an Instrumentation, Control and Automation (ICA) Field Performance Manager to be responsible and accountable for the safe, compliant operation and maintenance of all ICA assets and the health and safety of technicians within a specific geographical area for the water function. Your responsibilities will also include efficiency, productivity, standards and quality to ensure compliance, serviceability and effectiveness within the wastewater function.
You will lead, manage and develop a team of approximately 20 team members and the associated performance, resources and budgets with a key focus on succession planning. The role has a focus of 25% people management and 75% operational management.
Your responsibilities are to include:
· Budget management for your area at an estimated £2m
· Acceptance and operation of capital delivery projects as they are completed.
· The performance of ICA assets at +-1200 sites.
· Follow established procedures within your remit such as finance and information requests, as examples.
· Setting annual targets with Area Manager, allocated in terms of targets and business requirements and you have autonomy in determining how these are achieved.
· Problem Solving - The majority of issues are routine and solved using experience and judgement
· Autonomy in solving customer issues and issues relating to failed sites. For specific incidents such as pollution, use guidelines to escalate to management.
· Drive Change and Innovation to impact compliance, productivity.
· Communicate clearly to the team to enable the effective delivery of change
· Clear and continuous communication with stakeholders both internal and external
· Collaborate other District Managers on contract issues, information requests, and to work together on problem solving and improvements.
· Interact and communicate with external customers to notify and resolve issues.
· Manage commercial risk around the engagement of contractors
· Ensure Public health, company reputation, regulatory and legislative compliance are at the forefront of our actions.
· Keep an overview of ISO14001 requirements within the operational area to ensure compliance with Southern Water’s Environmental Management System.
· Collaborate with external regulatory bodies and represent the company to the media.
· Successfully manage events and incidents in your area in and out-of-hours as required.
Skills required:
· Previous leadership/management experience in a similar sized team.
· Experience in either instrumentation, control or automation disciplines.
· Technical management.
· Experience in a process driven, regulated industry such as oil & gas, manufacturing, pharma or food production.
· A technical qualification in a related field.
· Budget/financial management
· Self-motivated and pro-active.
· Excellent communication skills at all levels including explaining technical subjects to a non-technical audience.
· Passionate about Team development.
