Business Change Consultant

Location: Consulting – we work, where our clients are based, we can’t therefore define a dedicated workplace, some travel will undoubtably be involved but Milton Keynes is the company home, you will be required to work on different client sites throughout the UK but will ideally live within 1 hour of Milton Keynes.
Joining a small, ambitious consulting firm with some very established clients, who specialise in guiding growth-stage businesses through the challenges of scaling, with a focus on organisational design and business architecture and business change.
The role is twofold, you will work with the founder to help scale and grow the firm, whilst offering first class client delivery. Many business decisions are yet to be decided, which makes the role exciting but unstructured (at the moment).
As a Business Change Consultant with a focus on Business Change (Business Architecture, Org Transformation or Digital Transformation), you will be instrumental in shaping and delivering strategic change initiatives for established and new clients.
You will collaborate closely with leadership teams to design and implement changes that enhance organisational effectiveness, drive efficiency, and support scalable growth or develop strategy. This role requires a deep understanding of both the technical and human aspects of business architecture and change management, with the ability to translate complex concepts into practical strategies – you will help shape the solution with key stakeholders and then facilitate delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Business Architecture Development: Lead the development and refinement of business architectures that align with the strategic objectives of our clients. Ensure that organisational structures, processes, and systems are optimised to support growth and efficiency.
* Strategic Change Consultancy: Provide expert consultancy on change management, helping clients navigate the complexities of transformation. Develop and implement tailored change management strategies that address the specific needs of each organisation, ensuring that changes are sustainable and well-integrated.
* Client Advisory: Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, offering independent, constructive advice that helps them overcome barriers to success. Use your expertise to identify risks and opportunities and recommend actionable solutions that drive business outcomes.
* Stakeholder Collaboration: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a critical friend who provides insightful feedback while fostering trust and collaboration. Adapt your approach to meet the unique requirements of each client, ensuring that change initiatives are effectively communicated and embraced.
* Process Optimisation: Work with cross-functional teams to assess current processes and identify areas for improvement. Leverage data-driven insights to recommend and implement process enhancements that improve productivity and operational performance.
* Capability Building: Support client teams through training and development initiatives, ensuring that leaders and employees have the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in a changing environment. Provide ongoing support to help embed new practices and sustain change.
* Commercial Focus: You will help develop and grow this firm, seeing and developing new opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education: A first-class degree in Business Management or a related field, with a strong emphasis on business architecture and organisational design.
Experience: Experience in a consulting role (5 to 10 years), with a focus on business architecture and change management. Experience working with both early-stage ventures and larger organisations across various sectors is highly desirable.
