Bristol Royal Hospital for Children is one of the leading children’s hospitals in the UK. BRCH is a secondary care centre for local paediatric population in Bristol and surrounding area, but also a tertiary and major trauma centre for children across the South West of England.
We are looking for a Locum Consultant Paediatric Radiologist (10PAs) who wish to join our current team of 5 Paediatric Radiology Consultants.
The successful candidates will have an opportunity to practice all imaging modalities, participate in quality improvement projects, to develop specialized interest and to lead multidisciplinary meetings. It is expected to participate in training of students and registrars.
Paediatric Radiology Consultants provide an out of hour’s on-call service for general pediatric imaging (currently a 1 in 7).
We are looking for the successful candidate to start as soon as possible, and this is for a
10 PA locum post for a fixed term of 12 months (part-time applications are welcomed).
Interviews of shortlisted candidates will be organised in beginning of April 2025.
The successful candidates will work with the existing team to provide secondary and tertiary paediatric imaging and will be encouraged to a develop sub-specialty interest. They will take part in the delivery of the emergency paediatric imaging services for the Trust. This will include all relevant modalities, including plain film reporting, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, CT, MRI, and interventional procedures as necessary. They would also take a central role in MDTs and clinicoradiological meetings.
Consultants are also expected to work with service managers and clinical colleagues to manage their case load in a flexible way, to ensure that clinical, national, and local priorities, such as maximum waiting times for referral to treatment, are achieved. The successful appointees are expected to take a full role in the delivery of the Trust’s wide agenda for Governance. The Consultants will take an active part in the department clinical governance arrangements.
