Job Summary: John Lewis Partnership Commercial Vehicle Technicians are the lifeblood of our logistics network. Without them, our shelves would be empty and our customers disappointed. Our Light Vehicle Technicians are encouraged to manage their own time, while being proactive to ensure our Commercial Fleet is maintained. At a glance: Salary - The salary offered for this role is up to £42,700, plus a shift premium. Your potential earnings could be up to £52,000 including Shift premium and OTE (On Target Earnings). Please note this role will attract a shift premium of 15% of the base rate (£4,725) Working Hours - Full time role, 37.5 hours per week on a 2 week rota, with the expectation of working 1 in 2 Saturdays, at premium overtime rates. Week 1: Monday to Friday - 06:00 - 14:00 Week 2: Monday to Friday - 14:00 - 22:00 Late Shift Working Hours - Full time role, 37.5 hours per week, with the expectation of working 1 in 2 Saturdays, at premium overtime rates. This will attract a shift premium of 25% (£7,875 per annum) 14:00 - 22:00 Night Shift Working Hours - Full time role, 37.5 hours per week Week 1: Monday - Friday 22:00 - 06:00 Week 2: Sunday - Thursday 22:00 - 06:00 This will attract a shift premium of 33% (£10,395 per annum) Contract type - These are permanent roles. What you'll be doing As a Light Vehicle Technician within the team, you’ll be working on up to 3.5 Tonne Delivery Vehicles. It will be your job to ensure all vehicles are maintained to a safe and roadworthy standard to both VOSA and Partnership’s requirements. As well as ensuring that the relevant sections of all inspections, services and defect sheets are completed in compliance with our ‘O’ Licence obligations, and that all spares requests and time books are completed daily. You will need to be aware of best practice and current commercial vehicle repair techniques, to be able to ensure that high quality repairs are carried out in a cost effective manner and that the use of spare parts and consumables reflect the level of work carried out.
