We're supporting our client, a leading global machine manufacturer based in Gloucestershire who are looking for a Service Engineer to join their growing team. The successful Service Engineer will have experience in a field related role and strong problem-solving skills.
Position Overview:
As a Service Engineer, you'll be there to guarantee professional high-level support to customers. Your primary focus will be the installation of new machines and the repair of existing machines, as well as using the CRM for the process and reporting.
Responsibilities for Service Engineer:
1. Equipment Installation: Installing and configuring manufacturing machinery and equipment in customer facilities.
2. Routine Maintenance: Performing scheduled maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and ensure equipment operates at peak efficiency.
3. Repairs: Diagnosing and repairing machinery breakdowns, which may involve replacing faulty components or making adjustments to restore functionality.
4. Inspections: Conducting regular inspections to identify wear and tear, potential issues, and safety concerns.
5. Upgrades and Retrofits: Installing upgrades or retrofits to improve the performance or functionality of existing equipment.
6. Diagnostics: Using specialized tools and software to diagnose complex issues and ensure machinery meets production requirements.
7. Troubleshooting: Using problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex technical problems efficiently.
8. Parts Replacement: Replacing spare parts to minimize downtime.
9. Reporting: Maintaining very detailed records of service visits through the company CRM, following the company guidelines:
10. Put the Work Order in progress when starting the trip.
11. Declare the work done, if it was successful, taking notes the customer may arise, inserting internal note for future follow-ups.
12. Write a clear and professional report of the job performed.
13. Declare all the working hours to be invoiced to the customer.
14. Declare the reserved working hours for salary purposes.
15. Take the customer signature.
16. In case of non-conformities, open a detailed and well-explained Issue Log.
17. On time reporting: Each Work Order (intervention at the customer side) or internal Work Order (other type of jobs) have to be updated and completed with a daily frequency.
18. Training: Providing training to machine operators and maintenance personnel on how to operate and perform basic maintenance tasks.
19. Cleanliness: During the stay at customers sites, it is mandatory to work with a great degree of cleaning keeping working tools in order. This is valid for equipment, tools, parts, documentation, and waste. During the visit, the customer has to perceive a continuous order. Before leaving the customer, the working area has to be cleaned and has to be brought back to the state it was in before the visit.
20. Company Tools: The company tools and the car have to be treated with a high degree of diligence, ensuring reliable long usage.
21. Customer Communication: Maintaining a very professional and kind communication with clients and machine tool employees, reporting progress, addressing concerns, and ensuring great customer satisfaction.
About You:
1. Good technical know-how of the company products and the CRM system.
2. Clear and effective communication with customers and team members is crucial for understanding issues and providing solutions being attentive, patient, and responsive to customer needs and concerns.
3. Problem Solving: Identifying and resolving technical issues efficiently, often in high-pressure situations.
4. Adaptability.
5. 2+ years of experience in a field-related role.
