Our Sunderland Community children and young peoples service is a well-established innovative and creative targeted Getting Help children and young peoples mental health service. The skilled individual will join a multi-disciplinary team in the development and delivery of interventions that identify mental health difficulties at the earliest stage, and facilitate the provision of services that promote resilience, and enable positive mental health. The service is comprised of generic and specialist Workers. You will be required to have sound knowledge and skills pertaining to childrens mental health and have extensive knowledge and leadership skills and be able to work autonomously as a practitioner and collaboratively with colleagues across a wide range of professions and organisations. Main duties of the job The candidate needs to have an understanding of child and adolescent mental health, will work autonomously as a practitioner and collaboratively with colleagues across a wide range of professions and organisations. Additional post graduate qualification in Child and Adolescent Mental Health or other (CYP-IAPT recognised course). Significant experience of working to support the mental health needs of children, young people and families. Experience of working with children young people within a multiagency context. Specialist knowledge of child and adolescent mental health, normal development, developmental delay and developmental disorders. Ability to complete comprehensive mental health assessment and plan, implement and evaluate specialist packages of care. Skilled in the delivery of relevant therapeutic interventions including individual, family and group work. Ability to offer consultation and advice to a broad range of professionals. Ability to work at the complex interface between universal and specialist children's service provision.
