Job Purpose and Scope
The Group Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading and managing a team of engineers at all Bridge
Farm sites. This role requires active leadership and management while promoting a culture of continuous
improvement to ensure engineering projects are completed on time and requirements.
Main Responsibilities and Duties
· Ability to lead and mentor a team of engineers at all our sites, assisting them to grow in their careers and
ensure that they have the tools they need to succeed.
· Oversee the completion of engineering projects, ensuring that they meet deadlines, quality, and budget
expectations.
· Using the Shire system, ensure that all routine planned maintenance is set up for each site and the team
manage and complete the schedules in a timely and cost-effective manner.
· Ensure that all contractors on site have the necessary checks completed and permit to works issued.
· Working with the Operations Manager, actively predict future issues and make changes to the operating
systems and workflows where possible to reduce operational down time.
· Keep abreast of new equipment that may benefit the businesses.
· Ensure that all paperwork is completed and managed at each site and that it is audit ready.
· Be responsible for all aspects of the Engineering budgets ensuring that you track spending and identify
areas for cutting costs.
Boilers
· Manage the fuel costs of the boilers on each of the sites. Budget for the fuel supplies and the storage of
the supplies.
· The boilers require regular maintenance and cleaning to ensure that they run efficiently. Budgeting with
the Finance team for scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs is necessary, this should also
include part replacements and managing the life cycle of the boilers.
· Monitoring and Efficiencies of all boilers on each site which includes the tracking of energy output and
fuel consumption whilst working with budget expectations.
· Analysing energy use at each of the sites to optimise the boiler’s operations to help with minimising fuel
costs and improve efficiencies. Ensure that the systems operate within budge while maintaining
performance.
· Adhere to environmental standards and ensure that the boiler systems operate safely and within legal
frameworks.
· Ensure the Company Health and Safety safe working practices are always observed.
· Comply with Company Policies and Procedures.
· The job holder will be required to undertake such flexible and additional working hours as may be
necessary, within reason, to facilitate the efficient fulfilment of the duties required by the position.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Essential attributes:
· · Strong technical ability to identify and evaluate technical issues and potential risks and develop innovative solutions. · Qualified in engineering discipline; C&G, HNC, HND, or higher. · Experience in Engineering leadership with ability to lead and mentor a team. · 18th Edition electrical qualified. · Great attention to detail. · Self-motivated and pro-active. · Excellent organisational and project management skills. · Excellent time Management skill organised and calm under pressure. · Friendly, approachable, and flexible – a team player. · Proactive, positive, enthusiastic - demonstrates “can do” attitude. · NEBOSH or IOSH trained. · Full clean UK driving licence, travel between sites.
