As an EHS Manager, you will be responsible for implementing high standards of environmental, health, and safety compliance across concrete batching operations and satellite locations, as well as maintaining and updating the company's EHS management systems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain and update the Rockland Concrete management systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001) in line with TSL Group standards, supporting internal and external audits.
* Implement and promote EHS policies to prevent injury, ill health, damage, pollution, and waste.
* Ensure all employees are aware of and adhere to EHS policies.
* Understand statutory requirements and maintain the legal register for the business unit.
* Conduct regular EHS inspections and audits at all sites and offices.
* Report EHS performance statistics to the Project Director and Head of EHS (UK).
* Close out actions from reports with responsible persons and deadlines.
* Intervene appropriately with staff not fulfilling EHS responsibilities.
* Investigate incidents and compile reports and statistics promptly.
* Ensure training compliance and provide relevant safety training and site-specific inductions.
* Ensure project facilities meet legal requirements and display statutory notices.
* Manage permits to work, COSHH storage, and risk assessments.
Skills and Experience Required:
* NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate, or NEBOSH Diploma (advantageous)
* Valid CSCS Card reflecting relevant qualification
* Experience in aggregates industry (ready-mix/concrete batching advantageous)
* Environmental qualification (e.g., IEMA Certificate) desirable
* Full, clean UK driving licence
* Knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation
* Excellent communication skills at all levels
* Effective time management and decision-making skills
* Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments and prioritize tasks
* Willingness to travel across the UK to project sites
* Chartered membership of IOSH or committed route to Chartership
