Zero Hours Contract Job title : Conference Services Assistant Responsible to : Deputy General Manager/ Food & Beverage Manager Location : Conference Aston Hotel Purpose To service client meeting rooms, assisting with working lunches, formal and informal buffets. Assisting with client functions on an ad hoc basis. Consistently maintaining a high standard of service and presentation of teas, coffees, snacks, working lunches, buffets and formal functions. This is coupled with excellent customer care skills. To support the conference operation and the Food & beverage department. This role with include room lay out changes, mobile wall moving & movement of large/heavy items. Supporting the catering department with deliveries and catering events in conference rooms. Ensuring the refreshment lounges areas for serviced and maintained to a high standard Food and service To consistently present correctly laid out tables and trays as per client specification To service rooms in a timely manner To ensure crockery and cutlery are clean and highly polished To serve the food in the most appropriate way as detailed by the client. To liaise and communicate with the Restaurant Manager to enable efficient and effective running of hospitality service To be willing to undertake any training to enhance the role as necessary. To address all site and client personnel appropriately. To always wear the full correct Company uniform in a clean and tidy fashion. There may be a requirement on as and when basis to cover evening functions. Administration and policy To ensure the hospitality kitchen and storage area are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and orderliness. To ensure correct stock rotation and food storage procedures. Where required to take temperatures of equipment and / or food and record. To complete allocated cleaning duties to the required standard including equipment, walls to 6ft, floors, fixtures, fittings, pots, pans, cutlery, crockery, glassware etc. and use the correct chemicals. Cleaning schedules to be signed. To ensure all hygiene and cleaning procedures are adhered to. To use the Personnel Protective Equipment provided. To be able to work alone or as part of a team To assist with any other duties as required by the Unit Manager. To attend any reasonable request by the Deputy General Manager and Catering Managers To report any customer complaints and take some remedial action if possible. To report immediately any incidents of accident, fire, theft, loss, damage, or other irregularities and take such action as may be appropriate or possible.
