Our team is our strength, and we are looking for a passionate and dedicated Infrastructure Engineer to join our growing IT department.
As our new appointed Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving our IT infrastructure. You will work closely with the infrastructure team and wider IT team to support the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of hardware, software, and networks. This role offers a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop your skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, networks, and related technology.
* Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure system reliability and performance.
* Support the team in managing backups, disaster recovery, and security protocols.
* Collaborate with senior engineers to implement and maintain infrastructure projects.
* Document system configurations, procedures, and best practices.
* Provide technical support to internal teams and respond to incidents in a timely manner.
* Participate in the deployment of software updates, patches, and upgrades.
* Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives.
* Support internal and external audit exercises for the maintenance of various certifications and contractual requirements.
* Keep abreast of technological advancement, emerging standards and new software or hardware solutions that may affect decisions on systems building or enhancements.
Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
* Basic understanding of network concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and operating systems (Windows, Linux).
* Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or OCI is a plus.
* Knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) is advantageous.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
* Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals) are a plus but not required.
* ITIL Foundation-level knowledge.
* Time management and organisational skills to manage a variety of tasks, prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
