A specialist school in Slough is seeking a dedicated Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant (Visual Impairment) to support blind and partially sighted students in their learning and development. As a Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers, mobility specialists, and therapists to create an accessible and engaging learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with visual impairments, adapting learning materials as required. Assist with mobility and orientation, helping students navigate their environment safely and independently. Use specialist resources such as Braille, tactile diagrams, and assistive technologies. Support students in developing confidence, communication skills, and life skills. Work closely with teachers and therapists to implement personalised education plans.Who We're Looking For: No prior experience is required, as full training will be provided. However, this role would be ideal for someone with experience working with children with visual impairments, SEN, or care-based support.
