Shape Futures Beyond the Classroom
Are you a qualified teacher with a passion for helping young people prepare for life beyond school? Teaching Personnel is supporting a well-established specialist provision in Poole to recruit a full-time Key Stage 4 Teacher. This is an exceptional opportunity to make a lasting impact in the lives of students aged 16 to 18 who require an educational environment that understands and adapts to their unique needs.
The school supports learners with a wide range of special educational needs, with a strong focus on autism, learning difficulties, and additional communication challenges. Its dedicated team works within a structured, supportive framework designed to nurture independence, build confidence, and develop essential life skills. The setting prides itself on preparing students for adulthood, with meaningful experiences that go beyond the standard curriculum. The atmosphere is calm, respectful, and genuinely child-centred, where each pupil is encouraged to achieve their personal best.
This is a role where you’ll have the chance to help shape the future of students who benefit greatly from your support and dedication. In a small, nurturing environment, you’ll engage with students on a personal level, guiding them not only through academic lessons but also life skills that will prepare them for further education, employment, and independent living. The school fosters a culture of patience, understanding, and growth, with a focus on building students' self-confidence and self-esteem.
Your Role and Impact
In this role, you will deliver a tailored curriculum that supports academic learning while focusing on social development, employability, and life skills. Lessons are adapted to meet individual learning styles and abilities, meaning creativity, patience, and emotional awareness are just as important as subject knowledge. You will work closely with support staff, therapists, and pastoral leads to ensure every pupil receives the guidance and structure they need. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring students meet their individual learning goals while also building essential skills for future life.
You will be responsible for fostering a safe and supportive learning environment that encourages student growth, both academically and personally. By establishing strong, trusting relationships with the students, you will help them overcome any obstacles they face and celebrate their successes, no matter how big or small. The role is perfect for someone who is not only passionate about teaching but is also driven to make a real, positive impact on the lives of young people with special educational needs.
