The Role
This is a full-time, permanent position based on-site at our client's production plant, working either a fixed morning or fixed afternoon shift. You will be responsible for leading a team of 7 to 10 operatives/senior operatives and reporting to the departmental manager. Your role involves supporting the efficient running of production lines in accordance with product specifications, company standards, and procedures related to hygiene, safety, quality, quantity, and cost.
You will provide leadership and support to your team, managing their efficiency, effectiveness, and the quality of products they produce.
Duties and responsibilities include:
1. Reporting any missing team members without authorization immediately to your Room Leader or Shift Manager.
2. Ensuring all operatives on your line wear the correct PPE as specified by Health & Safety/Technical Departments.
3. Raising any staffing issues immediately with your Room Leader/Shift Manager.
4. Maintaining the highest GMP standards throughout your line.
5. Recording all downtime accurately on the minute-by-minute downtime sheets and SIC Board.
6. Running Yield and Giveaway Reports at the end of each product cycle and escalating variances outside targets to your Room Leader or Shift Manager.
7. Conducting end-of-shift Line Reviews to ensure cleanliness standards are met, spare packaging is returned to Stores, and raw materials are restocked.
8. Ensuring your line is never unattended unless authorized by your Room Leader or Shift Manager.
9. Identifying potential shortages early and escalating immediately.
10. Reporting breakdowns to the Engineering Department and your Room Leader/Shift Manager, with hourly updates on the SIC board.
11. Managing stock replenishment during shifts as needed.
12. Displaying the correct 'Product Specification' at all times.
13. Filling out SIC Boards hourly and completing minute-by-minute downtime sheets.
14. Highlighting training needs or poor performance to your supervisor immediately.
15. Performing any other reasonable duties as assigned by your Room Leader or Shift Manager.
Requirements
The successful applicant will have:
* Previous supervisory experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
* Experience in food production is preferred.
* Strong leadership skills.
* A responsible and well-organized approach.
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* A willingness to assist with any required duties.
