The Role
This position focuses on working with an impressive portfolio of clients in the electronics and high-tech sectors, ranging from start-ups to global corporations. You will be entrusted with handling complex patent matters, developing client relationships and contributing to the growth of the firm’s electronics practice.
Key Responsibilities
1. Drafting and prosecuting patent applications before the UKIPO, EPO and other international patent offices
2. Advising clients on IP strategy, including portfolio development and management
3. Conducting patentability, freedom-to-operate and infringement analyses
4. Handling opposition and appeal proceedings at the EPO
5. Providing bespoke advice to clients and maintaining strong professional relationships
6. Supporting the team by mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to knowledge sharing
Requirements
1. Dual-qualified as a UK and European Patent Attorney with 1-3 years’ PQE
2. A strong academic background in electronics, electrical engineering or a related discipline
3. Proven experience managing diverse and complex patent portfolios
4. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical and legal concepts clearly
5. A client-focused, proactive approach with strong organisational and analytical abilities
