An integral part of The Thinking Traveller’s brand marketing team, the Social Media and Communications Executive will take ownership of our social media strategy and its execution, bringing our brand to life through compelling and engaging content. This role will focus on enhancing our social media presence, making The Thinking Traveller the home of inspirational travel content, alongside supporting our wider PR and communication initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic storyteller with a creative mindset, willing to be hands-on creating and directing content, alongside excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Your Responsibilities
Social Media Content and Execution
* Work with the Head of Brand Marketing to define the approach and content strategy for each of our social media channels: Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn, TrustPilot.
* Define our core messages and content for each channel, creating ownable social franchises and campaigns which position TTT as the home of inspiring travel content, amazing villa destinations, and local expertise. Act as a brand guardian, ensuring every piece of content and copy we publish represents our position as an inspirational, luxury travel brand.
* Manage the social media calendar, ensuring timely scheduling, publishing, and channel-specific tailoring of content.
* Ideate and oversee the creation of engaging content, including stills, motion visuals, and storytelling pieces, collaborating with internal and external creative teams. Be confident in creating and editing your own content, alongside briefing content creators and photographers in our destinations, or briefing in design and motion edits.
* Lead community management, fostering authentic engagement and promptly addressing comments and mentions.
* Stay informed about social media trends, competitors, and audience preferences to maintain an innovative and relevant social media presence.
* Monitor and analyse social media performance metrics, providing monthly reports with insights and recommendations for optimization. Test and learn new content and posting formats so we can grow effectively.
PR & Media/Influencer Hosted Stays
* Support our ongoing activity of media and influencer relationships, either directly or supporting our PR agencies in the UK (global) and DACH (Germany and Switzerland).
* Develop direct relationships with influencers and content creators across social media platforms. Identify new opportunities for partnership to help deliver on brand awareness and engaging content.
* Identify and coordinate hosted stays for journalists and influencers, working closely with operations and local teams to ensure a seamless experience.
* Collaborate on PR activations, events, and digital outreach to drive high-quality backlinks and brand mentions.
Wider Marketing Support:
* Understand the travel and lifestyle landscape and key personalities. Identify new people and brands for us to partner with and ways to stand out from the competition.
* Help manage the brand marketing budget, including owning social media content and hosted stays. Reconciling regularly with finance.
* Be an all-round help and support to the successful running of the PR and Brand Marketing function. Not afraid to get stuck in and collaborate across a variety of projects.
Your Specifications
* Experience in a similar social media role in-house, with a social media agency or as a freelance content creator.
* Social Media Expertise: Understanding of major social media platforms, algorithms, content formats, and audience engagement techniques.
* Content Creation Skills (photos, videos, graphics): proficiency in basic photo and video editing software, coupled with a strong storytelling ability (e.g., Canva layouts or InDesign).
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English: Ability to generate engaging and creative copy.
* Self-motivated, proactive, and a self-starter at heart, with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
* A keen eye for aesthetics, coupled with a deep passion for travel, design, and photography as well as a sensitivity to the luxury hospitality landscape would be an advantage.
