The Cardiff Commitment is looking for a Cardiff Commitment Programme Manager who can:
* Provide programme leadership and co-ordination for the Cardiff Commitment to young people, ensuring that the Council uses its influence in the city with employers, and as a major employer itself, to promote positive employment opportunities for young people in Cardiff.
* Build relationships with key partners across the city, including schools, young people’s representatives, Further and Higher education, work based learning, employers, Welsh Government, Careers Wales and support agencies to further the ambitions and goals of the Cardiff Commitment.
* Work with schools, sixth forms and further education colleges to help develop academic and vocational pathways for learners aged 16 – 19, that offer sufficient breadth of opportunity and best value at all levels.
* Work with Economic Development and the Regional Skills Partnership to support local, regional and national skills growth strategies, which enable positive progression for the young people of Cardiff and improve labour market supply, particularly in known economic growth sectors.
* Support schools and youth service providers to source employment and training opportunities for young people; and to raise awareness of the growing skills requirements and employment opportunities in the Cardiff Capital Region.
Based at home with some face-to-face time as required at County Hall, Atlantic Wharf, CF10 4UW and other locations across Cardiff.

Your focus will be on inspiring ambition, developing skills, and supporting progression into education, employment, or training. You'll work closely with stakeholders to innovate and enhance the delivery of career services across the city, giving young people a solid foundation to secure positive destinations after they leave school.
What We Are Looking For From You
The successful candidate will have:
* Strong business engagement experience and a solid understanding of Cardiff's growth sectors.
* A commitment to creating exceptional opportunities for young people, fostering ambition, and supporting skills development.
Key responsibilities include:
* Championing the Cardiff Commitment and driving partnership initiatives to support skills development and career pathways.
* Leading governance arrangements to ensure alignment of operational plans, programme performance, and compliance with GDPR.
* Facilitating the Strategic Leadership and Operational Steering Groups, providing direction and accountability for the Cardiff Commitment.
* Overseeing programme evaluation to measure impact and identify best practices, taking targeted action to improve outcomes for young people.
* Developing networks with businesses to enhance career education and awareness of job opportunities in Cardiff.
* Collaborating with Council teams on employment and skills initiatives and prioritising support for vulnerable youth groups.
* Supporting the development of academic and vocational pathways for young people aged 16-19.
