Salary
You will earn a competitive salary that increases as you progress through the program. Our starting salary for Customer Assistants is £26,520 per year, rising to £30,472 as a Shift Manager, £33,778 as a Deputy Store Manager, and £37,333 as a Store Manager-in-Training. In addition to your salary, you will also receive 30-35 days of annual leave and a range of benefits including 10% in-store discount, discounted gym memberships, and more.
Job Description
The Retail Leadership Degree Apprenticeship is a four-year program designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to build a successful career in retail. Throughout the program, you will complete university modules in topics such as Retail Business Environment, Retail Culture & Mindset, Digital Retail, and Retail Insights & Customer Information. You will also gain hands-on experience in store leadership roles, starting as a Customer Assistant, progressing to Shift Manager, then Deputy Store Manager, and finally Store Manager-in-Training.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be eligible for the Retail Leadership Degree Apprenticeship, you must have Maths and English at level 2 or above (GCSE grade 4 or previously grade C), be legally entitled to work in the UK on a full-time, permanent basis, and have been living in the UK for at least three years prior to commencing the apprenticeship. You should also have good time-management skills and initiative and determination to succeed in a fast-paced work environment. Kingston University uses a range of entry requirements to assess your suitability for the course, which may include UCAS Tariff points, interview, portfolio, and practical evidence.
