The School of Vocational and Technical Studies (VTS) at South Thames College is looking for an experienced Electrical Installation lecturer to deliver outstanding quality in teaching, learning, assessment, and tutorial support to students, maximizing achievement and continuous improvement. You will play a key role in supporting the development of the curriculum, employer engagement, and learner skills development.
We’d like you to have recent teaching experience in Electrical Installation in an FE College and a successful record of tutoring and supporting learners, as well as setting and implementing target setting, monitoring, and reviewing progress. With strong evidence of outstanding teaching, learning, assessment, and effective employer engagement in curriculum design and delivery, you’ll have a strong working knowledge of the current framework for teaching, learning, assessment, and quality assurance.
You’ll have proven experience of working in the Electrical industry, installing systems and equipment in a wide range of environments, and be up to date in terms of technologies within the construction industry. You should be able to adopt different methods and strategies according to individuals’ learning abilities. You’ll also possess effective verbal and written communication skills in both group and interpersonal situations and be able to work under pressure and to strict validating body deadlines.
The salary will include a £10,000 uplift if the post holder is a qualified teacher with a relevant Level 3 NVQ Electrotechnical qualification and is registered with the JIB as ‘Approved Electrician’ status or Eng-Tech status via the IET. In addition, you should have achieved a relevant recognized Level 3 assessor qualification e.g. TAQA.
