Description UE06 £33,882 to £39,105 per annum pro rata (based on 35 hours per week) Part time, open contract 11am-10pm shift times (with 1 hour unpaid lunch) rolling 4 shifts on, 8 shifts off 10 hours shifts averaging 23.3 hours/week Paid overtime accrued for any additional shift cover The Opportunity: We have a fantastic opportunity for a registered nurse to join our established Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) nursing team here at the Hospital for Small Animals (HfSA) on a rolling rota, 4 shifts on, 8 shifts off. With the addition of our Emergency Room and expanding case load, we are looking for candidates who are passionate about providing state-of-the-art nursing for critically ill and emergent patients. We are open to emergencies 24/7, so part of the role is to support the growing out of hours emergency referrals we see, involving triage, stabilisation and longer term care of our critically ill patients. As part of this role, you will be expected to cover the annual leave for your colleagues, accruing paid overtime for all additional hours worked. Successful candidates will be highly motivated to take their career forward by helping us develop and teach critical care nursing within our hospital. Prior nursing experience in a busy emergency room and/or in a referral hospital is desirable, however, full training will be provided to successful candidate. Your skills and attributes for success: Being an RCVS registered veterinary nurse (RVN) is essential Excellent organisational and communications skills are essential Keen dedication to teaching the next generation of veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses is a must.
