The Opportunity
We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Civil Engineer to join our Consulting Highways team. With a shared office space in our Telford or Birmingham office and the ability to work remotely we invite applications from across the region.
Key Midland Frameworks
1. Midlands Highway Alliance (MHA): This framework enables us to collaborate directly with 21 local authorities, delivering essential highway infrastructure and maintenance projects.
2. Scheme Delivery Framework (SDF): The SDF framework is managed in collaboration with Highways England, covering a comprehensive range of civil engineering projects.
3. Staffordshire Infrastructure Plus: Our partnership with Staffordshire County Council has delivered over £100m worth of major transport infrastructure projects.

The role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Highways Engineer to support our Design and Development team. As a Civil Engineer, you will support the Senior Engineer and lead junior Engineers in the design and delivery of multiple highway projects. Responsibilities include:
* Producing technically sound engineering solutions, complying with all relevant technical standards and client requirements.
* The preparation and checking of designs, calculations, drawings and documentation.
* Liaising with client and supplier representatives at peer level.
* Managing a small, locally based single discipline technical team.
* Contributing to the preparation of bids and the general work winning function.
* Working on site, either on a visiting basis or in a full time but temporary role.
What you will bring to us:
* Relevant experience in highway engineering.
* The ability to work in a commercial and customer focused way.
* Confidence to work under minimum supervision.
* A good understanding of Manual for Streets, DMRB, and other national standards.
* A good understanding of the CDM regulations.
* The ability to support the preparation of briefs for fee quotes.
* Can deliver on time, within budget and to the quality required.
* Keep up to date with industry best practice.
