A rare opportunity has arisen for a new permanent full or part time vet to join the team at Vets for Pets Cumbernauld!
With our lovely vet Alice going to start an internship at Glasgow in August, we have a rare opportunity for a new vet to join our amazing team!
You would be joining our 4 vets; Claire and Brian who are also the partners, and Gemma and Elisa; along with 4 RVNs, 1 SVN, 1 VCA and 2 client care advisors.
Having been open for over 5 years, we expanded the practice and installed a CT scanner in the summer of last year. This means we have been able to expand our pre-existing orthopaedic referral service (led by certificate-holder Brian) into CT referrals too, resulting in us seeing an interesting and varied caseload between our own clients and referrals from other practices.
With seeing a lot of surgical referrals, there is great opportunity for you to further your skills in orthopaedics and soft tissue surgery if this is of interest. Several of our team have also either completed or are starting certificates, and there is definitely the support for you to do this too!
The job would suit either an experienced or recently graduated vet as you will be supported to whatever level you require by the team. Consults are 15 minutes long with extended 30 minute consult times where required (e.g., dermatology consults, 2nd opinions and euthanasias).
Weekends are shared between the team making a 1 in 4 rota. There is no OOH as we use Emergency Vets Glasgow for this. The weekly rota can be adjusted to suit your needs as we understand how important work-life balance is, but full time generally can work as 4 days with a fixed regular day off, or 5 shorter days per week. Working overtime is very rare and you would always be paid for this if the need ever arose.
Annual salary would begin at £36,500 for a new graduate, increasing commensurate with experience to £50,000.

Pets just see people. They aren't biased and they don't discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don't perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
