The Investment Compliance & Risk Team Lead will play a key role in embedding business controls and act as a driving force in our continued development. Purpose of Role
This role focuses on the complete management of the Regulatory Portals.
The Company has an objective of continuously expanding the range of regulation embedded within the portals and technology. Even where there is not existing client demand, this represents an investment in the future value of the company.
You will be adaptable and hard-working and demonstrate strong communication skills both in relations with your team and with the wider Funds-Axis business.
You will deliver the support and the operational excellence in accordance with the Company Mission and Vision, and in a manner supportive of the Funds-Axis Values and Business Culture.
Role Overview
* Deliver dynamic and robust leadership to the Fund Regulation team.
* Responsible for conduct of internal processes.
* Conduct of research activities and promote operational excellence within your team.
* Provide leadership and support to your team members and the wider Funds-Axis teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Team Management
As the Team manager, you will manage and develop a small team which will be located across various sites, including Belfast and Chennai.
You will ensure that the team meet their objectives as set out below. You will carry out all HR and learning and development for the team, ensuring that teams outside of Belfast are fully integrated into the culture and standards of the rest of the business.
You will recruit for a middle manager who can support in carrying out all the reviews of the research analyst work for Global Exchanges, which could be a promotion in India. You will also recruit for a middle manager with disclosures experience who can support the management of the Global Disclosures product.
2. Product Management
You will ensure that there is high quality product management in place across the Regulatory Portals, including as regards:
* Keeping the products up to date
* Administration of user permissions and security, including to protect Funds-Axis intellectual property
* Technology management, BCP, back-up, recovery etc.
3. Training
You will deliver and execute a training plan for the training and development of:
* your team; and
* the wider business in your areas of expertise.
In due course, your team will support the delivery of training to clients.
4. Industry Engagement
You will be a public face of Funds-Axis, both to existing clients and as SME in client demos. You will be proactive in ensuring we are regularly publishing high-quality, relevant content and that it is being properly used as a marketing tool for clients and prospects, including but not limited to white papers, news bulletins, monthly/quarterly newsletters, public events etc.
Over time, you will become a Funds Regulatory expert, with detailed knowledge of the fund regulation.
You will be our internal point of contact for industry bodies and regulators and develop our relationships with these organisations.
You will attend industry events, including relevant seminars etc. or briefings etc. run by law firms / accountancy firms.
As appropriate you will meet with existing clients and prospects.
5. Relationship management
You will ensure that there is strong relationship management in place, including:
* On-going engagement with clients
* Service level review calls
* Prompt answer of requests.
The RM responsibilities will report in to the Head of Sales and Relationships, but the day to day responsibility is with the Fund Regulation Manager.
6. Marketing, Sales and Commercial
You will work with the marketing and sales teams to ensure that the Regulatory Portals are marketed and promoted in an effective and high quality way.
This will include ensuring that:
* there is in place a good overall marketing strategy, including marketing messages and collateral
* there is on-going review and challenge of the success of the marketing strategy, including results of campaigns, SEO etc.
* you will ensure that there is a flow of collateral / white papers etc. / developments to support the marketing activity.
Where possible, you will also work on the identification of new partnerships and distribution lines (e.g. with other publications).
You will support sales/pre-sales demos and enquiries.
Travel
We do not expect the travel requirements to be significant and we expect you to set your own diary commitments.
To manage a small team in India, we would expect that this includes a maximum of one trip to India per year for up to 1 week.
To meet the other objectives, we would expect that this role involves being in London / Dublin on several days per month.
Particularly in year 1, we would expect that you take the opportunity to meet with and build relationships with our client base and with industry organisations. There will be an opportunity for you to identify any other opportunities for delivering additional training / consultancy to our clients.
Team Objectives
* To ensure that the Regulatory Portals are well maintained.
* To ensure that the Regulatory Portals provide a good customer experience, with improvements made where possible.
* To work with marketing and sales to ensure that the Fund Regulation portal is well marketed / sold.
* To manage all regulatory content.
* Tracking of regulatory change, including new regulation and new system opportunities.
* Continual extension and development of the scope of the product to cover more rules and regulations.
* To ensure delivery of training to the rest of the Funds-Axis team.
* To ensure delivery of training and updates to clients.
Team Tasks
Regulatory
Fully utilise membership and relationships with all regulatory bodies, including IA, ALFI, AIMA, Irish Funds:
* Track development
* Attend meetings etc.
* Raising queries and responding to industry requests for feedback etc.
Regulatory tracking and maintenance of all portals for regulatory changes:
* Fund Regulation (including training portal)
* Global Exchanges
* Global Disclosures
Producing thought leadership articles on relevant subject areas for publication on our websites and distribution to clients/prospects.
Rules and report changes:
* Ensure that all regulatory changes to rules and reports are fully tracked on a timely basis as regards (i) (regulatory developments tracking and (ii) being released into the system.
* Tracking should be visible to clients, together with release notes, test documentation etc.
* Liaising with the wider Product team to ensure any rule changes impacting FundWare are understood in a timely fashion and implemented
* Briefing staff of regulatory change so that they can manage queries from clients
Development of User Experience across all portals:
* Liaising with internal and external IT and design resources to ensure websites are well-maintained, easily navigable and well-presented
* Liaising with clients to ensure we receive regular feedback on look and feel, content etc and using this to improve the portals
Expansion of system coverage:
* Continual expansion of system coverage as regards international investment rules and regulatory reporting, including analysis, documentation, system set-up testing, full commentary on portals
* Examples:
* US liquidity, Singapore rules, Hong Kong rules, Swiss rules, Canada
* 13H, PF etc
* Liaising with clients to understand where there are other regulations in scope/of interest – e.g. EU Money Market Funds
Comply with company Policies and Procedures in relation to the Quality and Information Security Management Systems
